Laxpower2 is a 'sandbox' website of Laxnumbers and ranks College and High School Lacrosse teams. Where Laxpower differs from Laxnumbers is that it employs six rating algorithms: Laxnumbers, Laxpower, NPI, RPI, Safe3Step and Powerwise and generates a consensus by averaging the rank of all six methods.

While we are passionate about the Laxnumbers algorithm, this is an opportunity to compare results with other approaches. When all algorithms are in agreement (consensus) then it leaves little doubt where a team should rank. When there are large differences between algorithms, then it could present a argument that results are based on the intricacy of the method.

In addition to team rankings, Laxpower2 also provides the differing strength of schedules rankings. They will be different for all algorithm as well. Finally based on the Laxpower results, a simulation is performed to produce the probability of winning the championship for college and high school states. While States are typically divided by class, these probabilities make the assumption that all teams regardless of class play in one state high school tournament.

The algorithms RPI and NPI are based on win-loss records whereas the Laxnumbers, Laxpower, Safe3Step and Powerwise algorithms are based on goal margins of difference.
